Ask Jon’ette: What is proper etiquette for a kid’s birthday party?

On March 16, 2014

My best friend actually called me with today’s question.  “Have you ever heard of a parent hosting a skating birthday party for their child where those invited had to pay their own entry?”

Styles and trends might change over time, but one thing will always remain the same; when hosting an event of any type, you never ask your guests to spend money!  Ever!  Asking an invited guest to pay to enter your or your child’s party is like asking them to pay for a glass of water while visiting your home.

The only thing invited guests must bring to a party is themselves.  Although gifts are nice gestures, they are optional.
