A Father’s Day Tasting with Plate Craft

On June 17, 2013

While some people were fighting crowds and waiting in lines before being able to enjoy brunch with their fathers this past weekend, I joined one of my favorite couples {Alexia + Marc} for a private tasting with Chef Bonnie of plate | craft, a San Francisco based catering company!

Since many of the groom’s guests will be traveling from New Orleans {his hometown} we’ve decided to make the cocktail reception all about southern favorites with a modern flair.  For the dinner reception, we’re keeping it more traditional in order to please the bride’s family.  I snapped a few photos and trust me, everything tasted as wonderful as it looked:

{Mini Muffalettas} housemade mini sesame rolls stuffed with artisan meats + cheeses and a pickled olive spread (l); {Mini Pimento Cheese Biscuit BLTs} buttermilk + pimento cheese biscuits stuffed with crispy bacon, heirloom tomato, watercress and tabasco aioli (r)

The whipped sweet potatoes were my favorite.  Absolutely heavenly!  I need those in my life at least monthly:-)

For dessert we tried some fabulous apple, strawberry and lemon pies provided by Bump City Bakery.  Then my friend and favorite cake designer, Shannie Cakes, brought us home with samples of her cakes – black and white, red velvet, strawberry short cake and my personal favorite, lemon, just to name a few!

I thoroughly enjoyed not only bringing Alexia + Marc to meet all of these talented ladies, but introducing all of the ladies to one another.  I love my creative partners.

Join me on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest to keep up with more photos and stories about the planning of Alexia + Marc’s October wedding!
